One of the main complaints that homeowners have about landscape firms is they don’t return phone calls. Most of these phone calls are initial contact for new work. There are however some key things you should not say when you leave that all important first voicemail. Remember the landscape firm is qualifying you from that all important first contact. You may cause the best firm for your needs from even calling you back.

Over the years I have been blamed for a lot of things in my career as a landscape professional. From broken gate latches to damaged light fixtures it seems the landscape contractor is automatically guilty. Now don’t get me wrong sometimes we inadvertently will cause some damage while performing our services but my observation has been to blame us first without any consideration of other factors.

There are some simple things a homeowner can do to build a lasting relationship with the landscape company they contract with. As a landscape business owner I can say with some authority that if you follow my simple advice you will ultimately receive better service from your landscape company (or any contracting/service company).
